‘Can of Snakes’ at ShockBoxx Gallery

“Can of Snakes,” is currently showcased in the eclectic exhibition “Mixtape” at ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach, California. This international open art call has brought together a diverse range of interpretations on the theme of a mixtape, highlighting personal and cultural reflections.

Curated from over 400 submissions, “Mixtape” features artworks that range from literal representations to deeply introspective pieces. The exhibition celebrates the nostalgia and personal significance of mixtapes as a form of identity and expression.

“Can of Snakes,” inspired by the intense emotions during Hurricane Harvey, this piece embodies a visceral response to personal challenges, channeling the raw energy of screamo music into visual form–but cute. Amidst the dynamic mix of contemporary interpretations in the show, “Can of Snakes” stands out as a testament to creative expression.

“Mixtape” at ShockBoxx Gallery is open for both in-person visits at 636 Cypress Avenue, Hermosa Beach, CA, and online viewing via Artsy until July 7, 2024.
